Why a website is worth it

People search before they spend. Most customers look a business up online first, so no site means some of them never find you, and a bad one makes them look elsewhere.

A site is always open. Your hours, prices and contact details are there 24/7, and it answers the questions people would otherwise phone up to ask.

It looks the part. A simple, clean site shows you take the business seriously, it's often the difference between getting the call and losing it to whoever looks more established.

Why it costs what it does

A website is something you own, not a subscription. You pay once for the site and it's yours, no monthly fee to me. What you're paying for is the time: getting the words, pages and layout sorted so it says the right things about your business and works on phones, tablets and desktops.

You can spend weeks trying to build one yourself with a template, and it'll still look like everyone else's. I do it for local businesses, fixed price, so you know exactly what it costs before we start. The only ongoing cost is hosting and your domain, a small monthly amount that goes straight to the provider, not to me.

The details

  • 50% up front. You'll see the finished site before the balance is due, and you get the files and hosting once it's paid.
  • Hosting and domain are yours: you pay, they renew on your card, I help you set them up.
  • 30 days of free fixes after launch, then pay-per-fix.
  • Need more later? My IT services are built for exactly that.
  • Sites carry a small "Built by KCodfish" credit. Keep it or remove it, both free. Keeping it helps a small local business find work.
